The fourth edition took place on April 27, 2025, promising to continue the tradition of supporting Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and community organizations. Attendees, vendors, and community stakeholders will once again have the chance to connect, collaborate, shop, and celebrate the wealth of talent, culture, and enterprise within Ottawa’s Black community.
The Ottawa Recognition Night, hosted by It’s Time Event Management, is an elegant celebration dedicated to honoring the leaders, innovators, and community builders who are shaping Ottawa’s social and economic landscape. This signature event brings together entrepreneurs, changemakers, and supporters for an inspiring evening that highlights achievement, uplifts underrepresented voices, and celebrates the collective impact made across our city. It’s more than a ceremony—it's a tribute to the people driving meaningful change in Ottawa.
For its third edition, held on April 14, 2024 at the Shaw Centre, the Expo featured over 160 vendors and attracted a large audience — a sign of its continued growth and community impact. With a wider variety of products and services on display — from food and fashion to home décor and wellness — the event underlined its role as a major celebration of Black entrepreneurship in Ottawa.

This inaugural event brings together innovators, community builders, and supporters for an inspiring evening that highlights achievement, elevates underrepresented voices, and celebrates meaningful impact across Ottawa. More than a ceremony, the 2024 Ottawa Recognition Night marks the beginning of a new tradition—a powerful tribute to the people creating real impact in Ottawa.
In 2024, It’s Time Event Management continued its partnership with Carivibe, leading event and vendor management for one of Ottawa’s most vibrant cultural celebrations. Building on the previous year’s success, It’s Time strengthened festival operations, expanded vendor support, and helped deliver an even more seamless, energetic, and culturally rich Carivibe experience for attendees across the city.
It's Time Event Management hosted the second Expo on April 30, 2023 at it's new, larger location at the EY Centre and doubled in size — hosting about 120 vendors across fields such as beauty, wellness, food, legal and financial services, fashion, entertainment and more. The event drew hundreds of attendees, giving Black-owned businesses increased foot traffic, exposure, networking opportunities, and a broader community reach.
It’s Time Event Management joined the Carivibe team in 2023, taking on event and vendor management for Ottawa’s long-running Caribbean cultural festival. Building on Carivibe’s established legacy, It’s Time helped elevate the festival experience by streamlining vendor operations, enhancing event coordination, and supporting a vibrant, authentic celebration of Caribbean culture in the capital.
It's Time Event Management hosted the first Ottawa Black Business Expo on April 24, 2022 at Tudor Hall — gathering over 60 Black-owned businesses and service providers. It offered a platform for community members to discover Black-owned shops, services, wellness, food, legal and real-estate services, and more — helping to bring visibility and connection where few existed before.
